A group of women asylum seekers from different parts of Africa found themselves isolated in the UK, missing their families and struggling to carve out a life.
With the help of a local community worker, these women formed the Voices for Courage choir, which sings traditional African and Western songs. The choir has attracted a lot of attention, touring different parts of country and helping to increase cross-cultural communication and understanding. For these women, the choir has given them a lifeline to express themselves and connect with the music of their homelands.
A co-production with FatCat Films.
